Items that were visible appear to be a car battery, bike, furniture, books, blanket, woman's shoulder bag, and various household items. Items are sold as is, where is, no refunds.
U-Haul Moving and Storage of Hoffman Estates Auction Terms
The terms of the sale will be cash or debit/credit card only. A photo ID and signature will be required at the time of payment. A $100.00 cleaning deposit will be required of all winning bidders. The deposit will be refunded after the unit contents are removed, broom swept, and once a U-Haul employee verifies the unit is empty and clean. A sale is not deemed complete until all money due is paid by the winning bidder. Any unit(s) sold to the highest bidder will need to be paid for, contents removed, cleaned and broom swept within 24 hours of the auction closing. Exceptions to this time frame may be made, by request of the winning bidder, on a case by case basis and at the sole discretion of the General Manger. There will be no access to any dumpsters or the Reuse Center at any facility. U-Haul will not refund money for property paid for and not removed in accordance with the deadline. Any items not removed from a unit will become U-Haul property and will be disposed of or donated. We ask that any personal documents, photos, etc. found in a unit(s) be turned over to a U-Haul employee in the facility center. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. U-Haul Co. of Western Chicago Suburbs reserves the right to refuse any and all bids. Any violation of the terms above will result in the bidder being banned from all future sales.
Notice to Bidders
Lien laws must always be followed. The Storage Facility (U-Haul Moving and Storage of Hoffman Estates) reserves the right to cancel or postpone auction in its sole discretion, including for (but not limited to) compliance with applicable lien and other laws and regulations.
All bids on the site are in $10 increments.
There is a non-refundable auction fee for purposes of the staff, paperwork and other logistical expenses to undertake the auction equal to the greater of (i) $10 or (ii) 15% of the unit sale price at auction.
Upon winning an auction you will be automatically charged a down payment of 10% of the unit sales price as a deposit that will be applied toward payment of the unit sales price.
Once the initial payment is collected you will receive an invoice for the remaining balance to be paid directly to the facility. You must have an invoice in order to access the unit.
Buyers must follow the facility’s auction terms. Auction terms are not created by StorageAuctions.com.
StorageAuctions.com does not allow last second bids to win. Bidding in the last two minutes will reset the time clock to 2 minutes, then an additional bid(s) will reset the 2-minute timer.
All sales are final and considered “as is.” Bids are considered a contractual agreement that must be fulfilled.
Units must be completely cleaned out and all trash must be removed from premises. No dumpsters privileges unless location specified.
Failure to fully completely clean out the unit will result in penalties.
